A Perry Tradition...

We did our annual egg coloring this year.  I would say that I have a love/hate relationship with egg coloring and pumpkin carving.  I love the thought of doing these things, but it never turns out as pretty as the magazines and there is always such a mess to clean-up after you are done.  But, it is my thought that every child should be able to expierence these two things.  And for those parents who don't do them should be charges with child neglect...ha ha!!

I love when kids get to expierence things for the *first* time.  I say *first* like this because sometimes kids have done them before but they are too young to have remembered it and it's like the first time.  Here is what Max did when we told him we were going to color egg.....

~He went and got the Markers....

...but he quickly caught on~

We invited little Jake to come color eggs because I knew they probably weren't going to do it for just a little 8 month old and I didn't want Kyle & Kara to get charged with child neglect.  So since Kara had plans to go to the musical that night Kyle did his fatherly duty and colored eggs with his son...

That lasted all but 2 seconds before he spilled the dye and made a mess....

So Jake had to spend the rest of the night watching from afar...

He didn't seem to care that he was in trouble.

Now I remember why parents don't do this with kids so little.  I change my mind, you shouldn't be able to be charged with child neglect unless they are over 2 and you don't color eggs  ;)

I don't know if Jake was really excited to be coloring eggs or if he was just hamming it up for the camera because he was being very photogenic...

Here are a couple of shots of the night!!

Are we the only ones who still write on eggs with a white crayon???

And the night ended with Max throwing his sippy cup (yep more terrible twos) and splattering green dye all over uncle Kyle and Jake.  So....it was time to clean up :)

Happy Easter!!!!

Here comes the Bride...

My little Miss Molly got Married yesterday!  But only for pretend, of course.  She was very much looking forward to "W" day at school so they could have a wedding.  I remember when Emmett was at this preschool 2 years ago.  I barely knew that they were doing the wedding thing.  Boys are just not into it like the girls are.  It was a whole affiar getting my little girl ready for her "big" day, just like the real thing.  We had to put her hair in curlers & everything.  We didn't get around to getting her nails painted, but she still looked beautiful.  Here is the finished product...

Here are a few more of her.

my tiara I wore for my wedding (something barrowed, I guess?!?)

The whole outfit is courtesy of her cousin Morgan.  The dress is Morgan's flowergirl dress from Uncle Kyle & Aunt Kara's wedding about three years ago.  And she recently gave Molly these "high heels" that she is in love with.

My mom & I took Max and Jake over to Molly's school so we could see the festivities. It was fun to be there.  Molly wanted to marry a ltitle boy named Jackson, but he wanted no part of this wedding thing.  So she ended up marrying Jackson's cousin Kaden.  You'd think we were from Kentucky or West Virginia, haha (sorry to all my kentucky & west virginia friends)!!  I hope this doesn't cause any problems with her friend Elle, becasue she says Kaden is Her "boyfriend"!!

~Don't tell her dad...Kaden layed a big one on her.
(her cheek, of course) ~

One of her best friends, Emerson.  I hope they are there for each other for their Real wedding day like Eme's mom & I were!!

Some of the beautiful Brides!!

Molly & this boy were having a fun time dancing!

Group dance!

& doing the Chicken Dance.  Every wedding receptions HAS to have the chicken dance!!

They even had a real wedding cake.  Molly's teacher makes some of the best cakes in town & the kids found this out first hand!

I think I may have wanted to tear up some during this *pretend* wedding.  I cannot even imagine the real thing someday.  It was so fun for all the kids (well, except Jackson ;).  Molly has such wonderful teachers that make her preschool expierance a memorable one!!

Mother of the Year!

This is what I found when I took my eye off Max for a couple minutes this morning...

Ok...so I WAS blogging.  Don't judge me.  I know, I know! I won't be earning "Mother of the Year" anytime soon.

He mentioned he wanted Hot CoCoa and like the good mother I am, I ignored him.  So being the independent 2 1/2 year old he is, He took matters into his own hands.  When I began to hear a funny noise & figured out it wasn't the rain, I went to investigate.  Yep, I found the kettle with about 2 tablespoons of water in it on the stovetop with the heat on HIGH!  So I did what any mother would do.  I put more water in it and warmed that up and we all enjoyed some Hot Chocolate...

I have been giving my best friend Tina a hard time about her son Ethan.  He is absolutely a hilarious little boy.  But he is hilarious becasue he is really a tab bit on the ornery side.  I have been telling her how much I love being around him but glad it isn't all the time like her.

Here is cute little ethan when he was only 1!!

We'll be careful what you say because Max has turned into that these last two weeks.  He used to be so sweet, calm and such a fun little boy.  We'll he is still fun, but calm?  NO!!!  He is into his terrible twos Full Fledged!!  Lucky for Tina...Ethan will be three in about a month and maybe his terrible twos will be over (yea right!!).  But we have 6 months to go and then ours will be over (yeah right!!)

We love our little boys and cannot wait to see what kind of havoc they are gonna wreck when they are teenagers!  Oh wait...I think we CAN wait!

Here is the rest of Max's wrap sheet...

 Needs no explantion!

~here a stool put a hole in the wall~

he put the sugar in the flour or the flour in the sugar...at this point I can't even remember!

His sisters lotion in his hair!

Which called for a bath, which is probably why he did it in the first place!

- Oh....I could probably start a terrible twos blog.  I am sure I will have plenty more for another post down the road!!

Better get off the computer and stop blogging so I can go change my kid's daiper and try to be a better mother!

Another Successful Birthday Party

I love to put on Birthday Parties for my kids!  Well...until the day of, then I just get a little stressed out.  But Every year they get put on and I try to make it as memorable as possible for them.   I usually pick a theme and sometimes we go all out and other years it is a little more simple.  Lately, as the kids have gotten older, they pick their own theme.   This year for Emmett's 7th birthday he wanted a orange & black Liberty Center Tigers Party!

I have to laugh at his reason for picking a Tiger Party.  I told him he could do Buckeyes or Browns if he wanted.  He told me wanted a Liberty Center Party because his Uncle Nick doesn't like the Buckeyes or the Browns but does like the Tigers!  I asked him why don't we just have a Uncle Nick themed party.  Woudn't Uncle Nick's face look really cool on a balloon ?!??  Ha Ha!!  But Uncle Nick is probably Emmett's ultimate favorite person right now!

Here is Uncle Nick with the cutest littlest Tiger at the Party...

~Some Birthday Party Fun~

I baked 61 cupcakes and had 31 left....WAY too many!

Yep I still hang crepe paper streamer like my mom used to do.  The Kids LOVE it!

Some of the kids getting ready for the best part.... Presents!!!!!

The Baseball bat he got that almost went through the TV!!

His gift from mom & dad...his very own wakeboard.  His other favorite thing next to uncle Nick!

Seven candles in a cupcake is almost too many!!

Sometimes I think these parties are alot of work.  But it is so fun to have all of our family and close friends together for dinner.  And it is one day that my kids can feel very special and know that is was all for them.

Oh...in our family (mostly my mom) we trace the little kids hand and write inside their name and how old they are.  Well we don't usually do it when their 28, but Nick does.  This is just proof that he is the biggest dork in the family.  I think the reason Emmett and him get along so well is they may be at the same level... haha!!

Thanks for all our wonderful friends and family that make it such a fun night for our not so little birthday boy!!

My little Maxine...

This is what Max wanted to wear to his cousin Madison's Birthday Party Saturday night...

....and being the mom that I am, I let him!  At least he had a basketball in his hand too!  Right?!?
